Dog Attacks at Birthday Party

Dog Attacks at Birthday Party

A mother claims that her daughter was attacked by a pit bull while attending a friend’s birthday party.

The personal injury suit has been filed against the dog’s owners and is seeking damages for the girl’s injuries and the financial burdens that have been forced upon their family.

The Complaint

Shannon Peyla filed the complaint against Troy Compton and Wanda Shea claiming that her daughter has suffered sufficient injuries due to the dog’s attack.

The 13-year-old girl was allegedly at a friend’s birthday party when the dog suddenly attacked her.

Peyla claims that the owners brought the dog to the party even though the dog previously attacked a little boy.

“If a dog or other animal, without provocation, attacks or injures any person who is peaceably conducting himself or herself in any place where he or she may lawfully be, the owner of such dog or other animal is liable to such person for the full amount of the injury proximately thereby,” states the suit.

Peyla believes that the owner’s of the pit bull acted with negligence by bringing the dog to the party knowing it could potentially cause harm.

She also claims that they failed to warn those around them of the dog’s vicious danger and they were unable to control the animal.

Little Girl Injured

According to reports, the girl sustained multiple dog bite lacerations to her face resulting in permanent scarring.

The girl also lost her front tooth in the attack.

Peyla claims that her daughter’s injuries have caused her a great deal of pain and suffering.
