Lawsuit Charges Truck Co. With Retaliatory Discharge

A former Beelman employee recently filed a lawsuit against the truck company alleging he was discharged from his job out of retaliation for filing a workers’ compensation claim.

Richard D. Clark alleged he suffered serious injuries, which rendered him temporarily disabled, as a result of a work accident in July 2006. Clark’s complaint accuses Beelman of failing to accommodate his injuries by placing him in another position within the company.

According to the complaint, the truck company violated Illinois’ state workers’ compensation laws. Clark is seeking damages in excess of $100,000 for his psychological suffering as well as loss of income and benefits.
